Cubitt is a studio‐based organisation: a community of artists who develop their creative practice in the freedom of their studio spaces, within a dynamic social setting. Through studio two we are expanding this provision to local people.

studio two operates on an 'open studio' basis, with members from our education community being able to use it for independent and collaborative experimentation. It is a space for informal learning, where the creative resources of Cubitt Gallery and the Studio Holders form an enriching backdrop to the projects of local people.

studio two has been carefully designed, and equipped with specially commissioned furniture, made from eco-friendly materials (mirroring the sustainable, and responsive, aims of our community‐focussed programme). It houses Cubitt Education Library, which contains books and other materials that have been selected by Cubitt Studio holders, to provide inspiration for artists young and old, and it is the venue for small exhibitions, installations, projects and events, created by and for our education community.

studio two is the hub of our newly expanded programme which has been made possible by funding from Deutsche Bank, in partnership with Arts and Business and the Arts Council.
