We work in close partnership with a number of local primaries to develop projects that meet specific needs. Currently at William Tyndale Primary School we are exploring professional development for staff in the visual arts; at Hugh Myddelton primary School we are exploring approaches to mark-making in the Early Years classrooms; whilst at Canonbury Primary School we are piloting a visual arts curriculum.
Our Young Artists programme aims to support leadership and talent in the visual arts amongst young people, particularly those who otherwise wouldn’t benefit from such opportunities. The programme offers free tutoring and practical workshops in groups to a small, targeted number of young people each year. The programme is funded by Children in Need.
Alongside our curriculum work with local schools, we run a regular programme of after school clubs and informal activities. Mostly skills-based, these activities provide young people with learning opportunities in an informal, artist-led environment.
We also work in partnership with local youth hubs and youth services. One of our key partners is Platform, a new state-of-the-art performing arts centre led by and for young people. We run a regular programme of life drawing and visual arts activities at Platform.
