School for Artist Educators

The Cubitt School for Artist Educators is a hands-on training programme for visual artists wanting to gain skills in education and community settings.

The School for Artist Educators is a year-long programme that develops in three phases. The training involves workshops and seminars led by leading education professionals, teachers and artists and will include themes such as: using artwork to stimulate debate and discussion; planning and implementing practical workshops; working within the National Curriculum and other sessions designed to help you unlock your potential as an educator. Completion of Level One also enables progression onto Levels Two and Three, which involve further hands-on development, training, and opportunities for paid placements.

We welcome volunteers, particularly from the local area. Volunteers help out at our annual Spring Ball, pass on their skills at Photoshop Club, help install murals, mosaics and public artworks and a range of other activities.  Volunteering is always fun and can help develop your skills.

We occasionally offer placements within the administration side of Cubitt Education: helping out on a specific project; or working alongside our staff to support the management of a project.  We have partnerships with Higher Education to offer these to current students, to enrich their learning, and are particularly keen to work with Widening Participation.
