Education

Cubitt Education works with artists, participants and partners to develop projects which take place in schools, care settings, youth hubs and other community organisations in Islington. We seek to build long-term relationships which are premised on shared interests and collective learning.

Our artist-led programmes include Saturday Socials, which works with older people on a long-term basis, and the Institute of Anything for people aged 13-19. We manage a portfolio of 10 artist studios in three social settings: St Luke’s Community Centre, The Mildmays Extra Care housing, and Arts and Media School Islington.

Through our Artist Social Club, we invite artists who are interested in socially-engaged practice to come together to exchange knowledge and network. To join our list of freelance artists, where we’ll update you with events and opportunities, please complete this form. We also support teaching and other staff within our partner organisations to develop skills and practice and through collaboration with artists.

For further information about the Education Programme, you can contact Lydia Ashman, Schools & Young People Programme at lydia@cubittartists.org.uk or Esther Collins, Adults & Community Programme at esther@cubittartists.org.uk.

Community Studios
Cubitt Education manages 10 artist studios in three social settings in Islington. The resident artists receive a subsidised licence fee in return for donating a set amount of hours of their time a month to creative interventions shaped with and for the studio settings.
