Amy Ash and Benjamin A Owen at The Mildmays

On Thursday 15 March Notting Hill Housing’s The Mildmays was host to a lively event presenting work made by the two artists Amy Ash and Benjamin A Owen, who Cubitt manage and have studios on the 2nd floor of 73 Mildmay Street.

The extra care setting was bedecked with daffodils and welcomed a wide range of visitors including Islington’s Deputy Mayor David Poyser, Notting Hill Housing senior staff, funders from Cripplegate Foundation, Islington Giving and the Baring Foundation, residents who live on-site and at 26 Mildmay Street, artists, family members and friends.

Amy Ash was greatly missed, but Cubitt and Notting Hill Housing presented a selection of her artwork including collage, cyanotype and photographic works, as well as a film made about her practice by Ben Owen. Just down the corridor was Ben’s own installation, in the very pink activities area. For the event Ben commissioned a piece of print to mark and celebrate his project.
