Artist in Community Studios: St. Luke’s Centre
Giulia Ricci was on a studio residency at St. Luke’s Centre, a community centre in Islington, from 2012 – 2014 where she worked on her painting and drawing-based practice alongside delivering creative workshops for the older and younger people using St. Luke’s Centre.
Born in Italy, Giulia Ricci has lived in London since 2004. She graduated from the University of Bologna and the Slade School of Fine Art and has shown her work extensively in the UK and abroad, in solo and group shows in public and commercial galleries, amongst which the Royal Academy, the Estorick Collection and the Jerwood Space in London.
Her work, which is primarily based on drawing and patterns, is held in private collections in Europe, Asia, North and South America and has been featured in various publications, amongst which the drawing anthology Walk the Line – The Art of Drawing, published by Laurence King Publishing in 2013.
