Occupy is here: Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April 2013

Young people in Islington are inviting everyone to ‘OCCUPY’ Platform youth hub in Hornsey Road on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April. This is a stunning new show that has been created, produced and presented by 13-19 year olds along with some of Islington’s best arts companies. Expect cutting edge art, electrifying music, eye-popping performance and inspiring spoken word!

Over the past six months young people in Islington have been working with Cubitt professional artists as well as those from – All Change,, Wayne McGregor|Random Dance, Apples and Snakes, Islington Community Theatre and The Lovebuzz Project – to explore what OCCUPY means, and to create this extraordinary new show. The OCCUPY event brings together their ideas and the work they have created about occupying territory, space, the mind, boundaries, protest and time. The audience will be invited to see the spectacle and also add their own ideas to it.

There are shows on Saturday 6 April at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm. On the Sunday there is an open day 1-4pm where everyone can explore this historic building and participate in creative activities led by artists and young people

Everyone is welcome to attend, admission is free. Tickets for the Saturday shows have to be booked on-line in advance. Visit www.platformislington.org.uk
