The Enchanted Gardens: a series of creative garden parties in the Kings Cross area for local older people.
- a sensory walk and bark rubbings in Barnsbury Wood (Islington’s smallest and least-well-known nature reserve) where we met a toad, long-tailed tits, took photographs of new blossom, and did a ‘mirror-walk’ amongst the treetops
- a Mad Hatters Tea Party in Culpeper Community Garden, which involved surrealist pass-the-parcel, mad hat making, drawing on the tablecloth, and delicious carrot cake
- a nature trail in Camley Street Nature Reserve, followed by woodland brooch making, painting on bunting and plaster casting.
The series culminated in Cubitt’s Studio Two, with a mini exhibition, lemonade and ginger beer and the chance for the participants to meet each other and share stories of their explorations and artwork.
